At Scarless Nose®, Dr. Dugar works diligently to ensure you feel a minimal amount of pain after your closed rhinoplasty. As opposed to an open rhinoplasty, Dr. Dugar performs a minimally invasive closed rhinoplasty, which ultimately allows for a faster and fairly painless healing process.

During the procedure itself, you will be placed under general anesthesia along with a local anesthetic to the nose, so you will not feel a single thing during the surgery itself. At Scarless Nose®, Dr. Dugar only performs closed rhinoplasties, meaning that there are no external incisions to the nose. Because of this, you will experience much less pain than an open rhinoplasty and healing time is significantly reduced.

After the surgery, some patients experience very minimal pain for one to two days following the procedure, which can easily be relieved with an over-the-counter pain medicine. During the first week after your surgery, a cast is placed over the nose. Since the incisions are made inside the nose, you may experience slight tenderness or pressure in the nose which diminishes quickly as the nose heals. Dr. Dugar’s mastery in the scarless technique allows most patients to feel more comfortable after the surgery than expected. Most patients experience NO PAIN at all after one to two days following their surgery.

Not only do most patients experience NO PAIN after one to two days following their surgery, but most patients also experience little to no bruising as well. At Scarless Nose®, we provide you with an efficient and effective postoperative care plan, to ensure you feel minimal discomfort and experience a fast recovery. This includes a specific technique for icing the nose, as well as other special healing techniques, which will significantly reduce any swelling, bruising or discomfort of the nose. After just one week post surgery, you will be surprised at how great and comfortable you feel!
