Finding time for yourself can be very difficult! With work, bills, working out, and trying to find time for fun, YOU usually come last. It’s very important that we take the time to take care of our body and mind.
Self care comes in a variety of different forms because everyone is different. What might make one person calm, could easily stress someone else out. In this blog I am going to list various ways that people can perform self care.
One way that every health blog says is to exercise. The reason is that exercise gives you endorphins and awakens your body. It makes you feel energized and happy. Easy ways for you to boost this if you do not like working out is going on a walk at night. This way you are outside and enjoying the fresh air without breaking a sweat. Another way is to do a quick 30 minute Youtube workout in the comfort of your own home. This helps people who do not like going to big gyms. If you do like going to the gym and are still in a rut, try a new class like pilates or zumba!
Another form of self care is to take a bath or a shower. Keeping good hygiene can boost how you feel about yourself. A shower or bath is a simple way that can calm muscles and make you think about yourself. Using calming shower gel or bath bombs with lavender or eucalyptus is also a way to calm down the nervous system.
Another way of self care is to do some type of craft with your hands. That might mean knitting, coloring, or painting. Working with your hands makes you focus on what is in front of you. It also gives you something to visualize that you completed and created.
Additional examples of self care might even be eating your favorite dessert, binge watching tv, or getting a drink with friends. Self care does not always have to mean a “healthy” behavior, but it means putting what you want first. If binge watching your favorite show by yourself is going to reset you then do it!
Lastly, trying something new that you have wanted to try might be great for you. If you want to come on in to try botox of fillers for the first time, please call or text 310.276.1703 for your first appointment.
