What Happens During Your Consultation?

In every consultation, you can expect a relaxing environment to have all your questions answered thoroughly. Our friendly staff will have you fill out paperwork and then take you to the photography room, where we'll take photos of your face for analysis by Dr. Dugar. You will then meet Dr. Dugar, who will first perform a detailed nasal examination to assess your breathing. Next, he will assess the outside (cosmetics) of your nose and give his honest assessment. Dr. Dugar will examine your face as a whole to study how your nose balances or imbalances your facial features. You will be asked to discuss all of your goals and desires with Dr. Dugar and show any photos or examples of noses you like. Then, Dr. Dugar will show you images of your own nose and discuss possible options for your nose with sketched images and computer morphing. You will then see a large catalog of rhinoplasty before and after images, allowing you to study Dr. Dugar's Beverly Hills Rhinoplasty Center work on noses similar to your own.

If Dr. Dugar decides you qualify for a Beverly Hills Rhinoplasty Center surgery, you will then meet our welcoming surgical coordinator. They will go over all the pertinent details with you, including financial details, pre-operative instructions and lab work, surgery date scheduling, and other pertinent paperwork. You will then be given a folder of information to take home and contemplate your decision.

We are always available for continued questions and inquiries to help guide you. We encourage you to email and call us with any questions and to come back for follow-up consultations to address any additional concerns or questions with Dr. Dugar himself. We understand how stressful choosing to undergo surgery can be, so we try to make the process as seamless and relaxed as possible.

Insider Tip: How to Find the Best Rhinoplasty Surgeon for You

The first thing you want to verify is that the board-certified surgeon you are considering is actually skilled at performing rhinoplasty. This may sound obvious, but many amazing surgeons are great at many procedures, yet they may not be fully comfortable with nose surgery, as it is one of the most complex surgeries within the field of plastic surgery. During the consultation, it is encouraged to ask the surgeon if they specialize, specifically, in rhinoplasty. This means that they would dedicate a majority or all of their practice to just rhinoplasty procedures. Rhinoplasty is a very difficult procedure, and immense amounts of practice and skill are needed to get expert results.

How many nose surgeries do you perform a week/month/year?

Most busy nose surgeons do, on average, 50+ noses a year. Dr. Dugar does 250-400 a year, to put it in perspective.

Do you do open and closed rhinoplasty? If so, which are you most comfortable with?

It's always wise to find out if your surgeon is experienced with both open and closed rhinoplasty. Open rhinoplasty involves a small incision on the columella, providing the surgeon with greater access and visibility for more extensive reshaping, making it ideal for complex cases. In contrast, closed rhinoplasty utilizes incisions within the nostrils, resulting in no visible scarring and a shorter recovery time, often preferred for more subtle adjustments.
